Heartbreaking Loss: Teen Dies After Surgery by Fake Doctor Using YouTube Tutorial in Bihar

In a tragic turn of events, a 15-year-old boy from Bihar has lost his life after undergoing surgery performed by a fake doctor who relied on YouTube tutorials. The incident occurred last Friday in the Saran district, specifically in the town of Madhoura. The boy, identified as Krishna Kumar, was admitted to Ganpati Seva Sadan Hospital after experiencing severe vomiting.

The Incident

Krishna’s family, seeking relief from his distressing symptoms, brought him to the local hospital. They were unaware that Dr. Ajit Kumar Puri, the individual who claimed to be a doctor, lacked the proper qualifications and experience for performing such surgeries. Family is unknown about this fake doctor. Dr. Puri advised that Krishna needed surgery to remove gallstones and proceeded to conduct the operation based on instructions he had watched on YouTube.

According to the family, Dr. Puri did not have their consent to perform the surgery. They were initially hopeful that the operation would resolve Krishna’s issues. However, as the surgery progressed, it became evident that Dr. Puri was using substandard materials and medications. The family was not informed of the worsening situation until it was too late.

Surgery and Aftermath

After the operation, Krishna’s condition deteriorated rapidly. Fake Doctor Puri decided to transfer him to a hospital in Patna using an ambulance, but Krishna tragically passed away en route. The family was devastated to find that fake doctor Puri and his staff had abandoned Krishna’s body at the hospital before fleeing the scene.

Krishna’s grandfather, Prahlad Prasad Shaw, recounted the distressing events. He revealed that after the vomiting stopped, Dr. Puri insisted on the surgery despite no clear consent from the family. When questions were raised about Krishna’s pain, Dr. Puri responded dismissively. Despite attempts to revive Krishna with CPR, he could not be saved. The family was left to deal with the shock of his sudden death and the unscrupulous actions of the so-called doctor.

Investigation and Legal Action

Local police, following a complaint from the family, have registered a case and sent Krishna’s body for an autopsy. They are currently searching for fake doctor Puri and the staff from Ganpati Seva Sadan Hospital. The authorities have initiated a manhunt and raided the clinic, but the whereabouts of Dr. Puri and his associates remain unknown. The preliminary investigation suggests that Dr. Puri’s activities were illegal due to his lack of proper medical credentials and authorization.

A Similar Case in Mumbai

This disturbing incident in Bihar is not an isolated case. In March, Mumbai police arrested Parvez Abdul Aziz Shaikh, a fake doctor, 46-year-old resident of Bandra, for practicing medicine using his wife’s Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) degree. Shaikh was caught treating patients without proper qualifications, leading to charges of cheating and forgery under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as relevant sections of the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act.

Shaikh’s arrest came after a tip-off and a surprise inspection of his clinic in Malwani. It was later discovered that Shaikh had been involved in another case where incorrect treatment had led to a patient’s death in Mulund. Shaikh now faces serious charges, including murder and attempted murder.

Krishna Kumar’s death shows the serious dangers of unqualified doctors and the need to check if healthcare providers are properly trained. This tragedy highlights why we need strict rules to make sure medical procedures are done safely and legally. Families should be careful and make sure that only qualified professionals handle medical treatments to avoid such terrible events.
